The thinking process for a creative photoshoot

Laconic-

Using very few words to express what you mean.

Telling your story

There are lots of places to get inspiration for a visual story, art history, cinema, magazines, Pinterest. No matter where the initial idea comes from, it needs to be developed further to be able to convey your story.

Questions that can help in generating ideas for a creative photoshoot

  • What message do you want to convey?

  • What would you want the photo to say about you?

  • What matters to you?

  • Has there been or will there be an important event that may serve as an anchor relevant to your story?

  • What interests do you have that may surprise people or stand out?

  • What are you passionate about, what makes you tick?

Idea is engagement

A photo does not have to be busy to be meaningful. A photo with an idea behind it makes others pause, wonder, relate, question. An idea makes people think and engage with you.
